Hi, I'm Kyoko - So glad you're here!

After graduating from a junior college in Japan, where I studied English and English literature, I went to the United States to study abroad. While I was there, I worked as a nanny, and that experience sparked my interest in early childhood education.

When I returned to Japan, I obtained my childcare qualification and kindergarten teaching license and went on to work at several international preschools.

Through those experiences, I began to feel that I wanted to create a place where I could work closely and truly connect with each child as an individual.

A place where children could feel:

"I am loved. I am accepted. I can be myself."

A place where they could learn at their own pace, following their own interests and discovering the joy of learning in their own way.

With that vision in mind, I founded CoCoKids, a small English-immersion preschool in Japan, inspired by the idea of homeschooling.

At CoCoKids, I created original curriculums and learning materials around the theme:

“Where play, learning, and the world connect…”

I loved watching children discover new things through play, everyday routines, hands-on experiences, and their own interests.

The learning content might be the same, but the way each child learns can be completely different.

Sometimes, the best learning happens when we simply follow a child’s curiosity.

Seeing children become so engaged and excited about learning made me wonder:

If a learning environment inspired by homeschooling could make such a difference, how much more potential might there be in learning at home itself?

That thought stayed with me, and little by little, one idea grew stronger:

“Bring CoCoKids into your home.”

And that’s where cocogreen began.

I created cocogreen with the hope of bringing the heart of CoCoKids beyond the preschool setting and into each family’s everyday life.

I believe learning doesn’t have to look the same for every child, and it doesn’t have to happen at a desk.

It can happen through play, conversations, everyday routines, little discoveries, shared experiences, and moments spent together.

Through cocogreen, I hope to gently support each family in finding a way of learning that fits their own pace, their own values, and their own little world.

And most of all, I would love to help children’s worlds—and the world they share with their families—grow a little wider, one shared moment at a time.

はじめまして、Kyokoです。

「すべての子どもが自分は愛されていると感じられる保育の場」「一人ひとりに合った教育の場」を作りたいという思いから、日本でホームスクールをイメージした小さな英語イマージョン保育施設を運営していました。（元保育士・幼稚園教諭）

子どもとのつながり、学びにつながる経験、第二言語の習得など、さまざまな視点からホームスクール・スタイルの可能性を実感しました。

現在は「親子で一緒に」をコンセプトに、家庭での学びや親子の時間をサポートする活動を少しずつ形にしています。
